We are thrilled to partner with three outstanding non-profit organizations! We know we were not the first to the 'buy one, give back' model. However, not only was it our mission to get good food in the hands of people who need it, it was just as important for us to let consumers take control of their donation and be connected to that cause. That's why you get to choose which one of our amazing partners your donated bars go to. Each cause is as worthy as the next, which only creates one problem... which organization do you choose?! ...
So much thoughtful work went into Bunch Bars, I was thrilled to share the story with the Milwaukee Journal. Entrepreneurship can feel lonely, yet we’ve been more than blessed to have dozens of people helping along the way…yes, I said dozens!
The story behind Bunch goes back to my exit from the corporate food world to start a non-profit. What I learned working in shelters and food programs shocked me to the core. And while I am no saint, I learned one thing for sure...food is love. Especially when you are down on your luck and don't have enough of either.
Both of my start-ups were forged during catastrophe. While many see the 2008 recession (cue start-up #1 Nourish nourishfarms.org) and a pandemic (cue start-up #2 Bunch Bars) as horrible times to launch; it is the absolute necessary time to launch if mission is truly at the heart. An imperative. Not a discussion. Foot solidly on the gas pedal. Not on the brake.
